For Part II of the “What to Wear in LA” series (click here if you missed Part I), I give you the rules of packing for Los Angeles when the sun goes down and you’re under the stars.

Dress varies by restaurant/bar/club like everywhere else. It’s easy to forget that LA is the same because we watch too much TMZ and Real Housewives. If you’re not a celeb or a recognized face on the LA scene, there’s a time and a place to get dressed up. Always feel free to call ahead to ask what dress code is, since opionions can vary online. But if you want to get glammed up just for the fun of it, go on with your bad self!

Most of the LA lives by the “California Casual” dress code. Even if you are dining at an upscale LA establishment, you don’t have to rock a Herve Leger dress Kardashian style to fit in. Get too glammed up and you’ll feel out of sorts at many places. That doesn’t mean to get sloppy, still keep it chic because the town is all about looking cool without looking like you tried to hard.

Make sure your man packs more than flip flops, as close toed shoes are a requirement at some clubs/restaurants.

Pack heels and plenty of accessories for yourself, it’s an easy way to dress up your daytime outfits and turn them into the perfect nighttime look.

Don’t forget some space-saving, easy to pack styled T-Shirt Dresses from lines like LinQ that can convert easily from day to night. Plan ahead AND enjoy 20% off LinQ thanks to Lucky Magazine and Clever Alice Boutique.
