Last weekend, while you were wondering where all my posts were, I was hanging out in Miami with a group of gorgeous girls for one of my long-time friends’ Bachelorette parties. We had an amazing weekend, and like any special occasion, a lot of thought went into everyone’s wardrobe. Here’s the scoop on my decisions on what to wear in Miami, why I love them, and what I though of some of Miami’s hottest restaurants and clubs.
My Vacation Style: Miami / South Beach
My Style on South Beach / Loews Hotel

Why I Love It: When I go to Miami I love to wear bright colors, so I felt like this tunic was a good purchase because I was able to wear it as a cover up, and then I will wear it out casually as a top or dress when the weather warms up in Chicago. I’ve had my red aviators forever, and they scream summer and Miami. I always wear them on vacation! The sandals topped everything off. I looked for a less expensive pair, but nothing looked of similar quality. I’m totally glad I bought these as they are well made and seem like I will get a ton of use out of them.
Loews Miami Review: If you are looking at hotels in South Beach / Miami, Loews was a great pick. Some hotels in South Beach can be less than clean and a bit too college Spring-breaky, and for me this was the perfect choice made by one of the other bridesmaids! I also recommend Mondrian if you are interested in a quieter spot off of Ocean Drive.
My Style at LIV / Fountainbleau / Michael Mena 74

Why I Love It: I have gotten TONS of use out of this dress. I bought it as a gown, wore it to a charity event, and had it altered for this trip to Miami. It shows skin, but I didn’t feel trashy or slutty. It worked very well for dinner at Michael Mina 74 and a night at LIV. My Rockstud clutch is my new go to, it’s neutral shades makes it a great investment piece with a trendy edge.
Editor’s Note: For a great blow out, visit B Dry Blow Bar Miami Beach. I’ve been there twice and it’s amazing
LIV / Michael Mina 74 / Fountainbleau Review: We cabbed it up to Fountainbleu (it’s a bit north of most South Beach hotels and stands alone as a resort) to get dinner and go to LIV, as they have a lot of restaurant and club options. Dinner at Michael Mina 74 was very good. I had a bad experience at Michael Mina in LA (they were totally snobby towards my husband and I, the whole experienced sucked and have since gone out of business) but they were very nice at 74 and the food was good. It’s a good spot to hit up for dinner if you are going out at the FB. As far as LIV goes, good luck getting in if you haven’t pre-arranged a table or don’t know a good promoter. It’s like a free for all in “line”. Once you get in it’s a good time if you like the club scene and can find a table. If you try to get in and cannot, Fountainbleau has a great bar/lounge as a backup.
My Style at Story / Nikki Beach / Pearl
Jay Godfrey Wilson Halter Dress Available on Sale in Wine at Bluefly
Also Available Here in Black at Revolve Clothing
Valentino Studded Envelope Clutch Available Here
Why I love it: The dress is well-made, in a color and style that stands out from other dresses. It was good for a club, but I didn’t feel like I was trying to be 20 years old with my look. To me it’s a 70’s inspired look, and that’s my fave fashion era. Again, my Valentino clutch has proven to be extremely versatile for me and worth the investment.
Nikki Beach / Pearl / Story Review: If you are planning to go to Nikki Beach (as many Miami club-going tourists do) it’s a decent spot. We went on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend fairly early, so didn’t see a huge crowd, but there were people and there is a good outdoor atmosphere with a random crowd assortment. If you like to run into interesting people you’ll be entertained. We thought it was more of a pool party when we went, but there wasn’t a pool. We also went inside to the connected club Pearl, and it was fine but nothing to wait in line for. We then moved on to Story, which had been recommended to us. It was decent but not really our favorite spot as the crowd was a bit off for us.
At SLS / Hyde Beach Pool Party
Seafolly Goddess Soft Cup Halter Bikini Available Here on Zappos
Mine is worn with the Twist Hipster Bottom Available Here
Gold Gucci Aviator Sunglasses Available Here at Gucci
Why I love it: The style has the padding I need AND good coverage for my booty, as many bikini’s don’t do it. A bright color or embellished bikini is a must have for a Miami pool party. I’ve had these Gucci’s for years and have gotten endless use out of them as Summer and Resort sunnies.
SLS Miami Pool Party / Hyde Beach Review: Totally recommend the SLS / Hyde Beach pool party for a Sunday afternoon. It’s super fun spot if you are ready to party. Be sure you are dressed to impressed with a cute bikini, fab cover up and heels and you’ll be all good, as long as you are ready for anything.
