I was lucky enough to have my mom, who happens to be a wonderful person and one of my best friends (I know, cheeseball, but true), in from out of town last week and to take her to my favorite local sushi restaurant, Rise. While getting ready I figured since the calendar said it was Spring (even though the thermometer didn’t) I would try to brighten things up a bit by pulling out my hot pink blazer from my favorite place to buy blazers, Akira Chicago. It’s a local fashion forward retailer that I have been a loyal shopper at for the past 8 years that has everything from fab dresses to an amazing assortment of blazers for a great price.

Instead of pairing a black or white tank underneath I decided to colorblock is with more neon. I kept the bottom dark because it still feels a bit like winter here, but this look would also be amazing with white denim or a shoe with a pop of a different bright color. A neon blazer is a must for Spring, whenever it decides to arrive…
