Why I love this look: I’m such a black and white person, it was good for me to add a pop of color to my otherwise monochromatic wardrobe. A suede or leather skirt with some sort of detailing (weather it’s colorblock, zippers or exposed buttons) is a total must have for Fall so this piece was perfect for demonstrating that trend. Also, this marigold-ish color was spotted all around New York Fashion week and is totally big for Fall 2015 fashion.
Also cool? The website my skirt is from, Porte Mode , is dedicated to emerging designers from around the world. You can find the most unique and amazing pieces on it that are totally gorgeous and unique!
Where I wore it: I wore this to the Monique Luhllier show at New York fashion week and then updated it with a cape blazer for dinner after at the Standard Hotel. I think it would also look fab with a black turtleneck and boots!
Inspiration: The skirt is inspired by a 60’s / 70’s vibe and I just worked pieces that I already owned around it. So I guess it was inspired by my own closet!

After about 5 years of covering celebrity fashion, I’ve only shown you a small fraction of my rather large closet and fashion knowledge. That being said, I’ve decided to dive in to a new “Lauren Loves” features on BigBlondeHair.com. I’ll focus on my outfits, reviews, and Chicago favorites and events.
