Why I love this look: I’ve never been a big shift dress girl, but wanted one to throw on with my over-the-knee boots at fashion week that wouldn’t leave me drowning in a pool of sweat (hey, fashion ain’t all pretty). The fabric of this under $40 frock is heavy enough that it worked perfectly as a post labor day white, and the croc embossed, faux leather trim black pockets made it mod to the max which was the goal! And if you believe the no white / bright colors after Labor Day school of thought it’s definitely time to update that mindset. Just make sure you are wearing the colors in thicker, more wintry fabrics.
Where I wore it: To the New York Fashion week Rewardstyle party on the Hotel Americano Rooftop. Rewardstyle knows how to throw a great party, and in conjunction with Nordstrom and Nike this was no exception. Extra touches like the floating pool logo and perfectly placed decals for “shoe-fies” were an example of their attention to detail at parties!
Inspiration: The mod style of the 60’s of course! And specifically that of Twiggy! I’m finding that although I am not the most creative fashion mix and matcher, picking looks to model my own after and thinking out my own way to do a variation is becoming a good way for me to put looks together I really feel good about.
