Why I love this look: I am a sucker for a crop top and high-waisted pencil skirt! I’d been looking for a match for this crop top for a month or so, and I landed on this $45 find (deets below). The older I get the pickier I am about quality, which was why it took me SO long to find the perfect fit. It definitely could be priced much higher based on thickness, texture, fabric and look. There are so many cheap-looking pencil skirts out there that show every flaw (I know because I’ve ordered and sent back about 10 😉 ), and this definitely isn’t one of them!
Where I wore it: I wore this to the Glossed and Found x Topshop Odyssey Cruise event. It was such a great time with goregous views of Chicago spent with some of my favorite bloggers (check out their sites below, you will love them!).
Inspiration: Becky, one of my best friends, wore this skirt out one night (styled by Personal Stylist Julianna C.). I loved the skirt but it had escaped my mind, until my fab intern Kathryn (check out her blog here) told me it was a must try on while shopping on Michigan Ave the other day! So basically a whole team of people inadvertently inspired this style! I thought it was a perfect nautical-yet-not-cheesy-nautical look for this event.
