Why I love this look: There are quite a few things I love about this look. One—I designed the shoes with Shoes of Prey at Nordstrom Oakbrook (I’ll post about the whole process in addition to this). The ability to design my own shoes was like a total dream, I cannot wait to do it again! Everyone has to check it out, whether it’s available at a local Nordstrom or you do it online at SOP. Two—I’ve been loved Parisian-chic looks featuring tulle skirts that I’ve seen on Pinterest for quite awhile now and have wanted to rock one so badly! I wanted my own spin on it so it didn’t look too girly, and the all black style made the shoes pop perfectly. This one is from Shabby Apple, is under $100 and is good quality. It’s definitely layered and full even without the “Windy City” winds blowing, and was a total head turner as I walked through the city! I think keeping it simple on top with dainty jewelry, big black sunnies and basic hair (I also think a pony would work) is totally the way to go with this style.
Where I wore it: This outfit is so perfect for dinner in the city!
Inspiration: As much as I could go on and on about how the women in Sex and the City’s decisions are what is wrong in the world—Carrie, what were you thinking marrying a man who left you at the alter?—I could never, ever fault their fashion. To me, this look is so modern day Sex and the City, it’s undeniable. I felt like an edgy, all-in-black, queen of the tulle skirt, Carrie Bradshaw in Chicago (with better taste in men of course 😉 ) .

After about 5 years of stalking celebrity fashion, I’ve only shown you a small fraction of my rather large closet and fashion knowledge. That being said, I’ve decided to dive in to a new “Lauren Loves” feature on BigBlondeHair.com. Every week, you can expect new outfit posts of my finds inspired by celebrities as well as my own taste. I’ll feature everything from Saint Laurent to Forever 21 and tell you why I love it all. I own it all, so please feel free to comment with questions about sizing, retailers, styling or anything else.
