Review //  Lauren Loves Chicago: A Blowout from George The Salon

Last weekend, before I attended the Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper show at the Chicago Theater—which was great, btw—I visited George the Salon for a blowout. Located at 945 North Rush in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast, perched atop Hermes and across from Barney’s, celebrity stylist George Gonzalez secured an amazing choice for his new location.

I had the pleasure of getting a blowout from Lauren, and she did an ah-may-zing job. Prior to sitting in her seat in the chic space, I had an amazing shampoo, treatment and truly relaxing scalp massage and then I left it up to Lauren to choose what type of blow out would look best. If you know me, you know I generally go for curly hair, but her straight blow out was truly amazing and made me want to go straight more often moving forward!

Not only did my blowout look great, it literally lasted FOUR days in humid Chicago weather. I was truly amazed that, with the help of dry shampoo and sleeping with my hair in a bun on top of my head, the look stayed for so long. I don’t know what magic she worked, but I need some more.

I’d recommend this salon for locals AND people visiting Chicago, as it’s a convenient location to many hotels and a great place to stop after lunch of shopping. It’s a totally posh place to go with your girls for an amazing service before a night out, and get the total Chicago-chic experience.

I only got a blowout, but from what I saw the salon offers top notch color, cuts and extensions in addition and I definitely would not be afraid for my tresses to try any of the services there. Thank you to Lauren and George the Salon for a great experience!
